Vector conversion

Convert EPS to WebP

Updated Jul 2026

Short answer

EPS is a vector format used for logos and print artwork, and WebP is a compressed image format built for fast-loading websites. To convert EPS to WebP, open the file in a converter, pick the pixel size you need, and export. Doing this on your own computer means the artwork never has to leave your machine.

How to convert EPS to WebP

  1. Open Morphjet and drag in the EPS file, or a whole folder of logos and artwork at once.
  2. Choose WebP as the output format and set the pixel dimensions you want the image rasterized at.
  3. Convert. The WebP is written next to your original, and nothing leaves your machine.

When to convert, and when not to

Convert EPS to WebP when you need to put a logo, icon, or illustration on a website or app and want it to load fast at a fixed size.

Keep the EPS if you'll need to resize the artwork later or edit its paths and colors, because once it's rasterized to WebP you can't scale it up cleanly or edit it as vector shapes again.

Why not just use an online converter?

EPS files are often original brand assets, a company's logo or print artwork that hasn't been made public yet. Uploading one to an online converter puts it on a stranger's server before you're ready to share it. Converting on your own computer keeps the artwork local the whole time.

Questions

Does converting EPS to WebP lose quality?

The vector paths get rasterized into pixels at whatever size you choose. That step itself doesn't blur anything, but the resulting WebP can no longer be enlarged the way the original EPS could.

What size should I export the WebP at?

Since WebP is a fixed-pixel format, export at the largest size you expect to use, or double it for sharper display on high-resolution screens. You can't go bigger later without quality loss.

Will the WebP keep a transparent background?

Yes. If the EPS has a transparent background, that transparency carries over to the WebP.

Can I still edit the logo after converting it to WebP?

No. Once it's WebP it's just pixels, not shapes and text. Keep the original EPS if you'll ever need to edit paths, colors, or text again.

Can this be done offline, without uploading the file?

Yes. A desktop app like Morphjet converts the file using your computer's own processing power, so it never has to touch the internet.
