When to convert, and when not to
Convert CSV to PNG when a table has to appear somewhere that will not open a spreadsheet: a slide, a chat message, a bug report, a wiki page or a design mock. PNG is the right pick over JPG here because text stays crisp instead of picking up compression fuzz around the letters.
Do not convert if anyone will need to use the numbers. An image cannot be sorted, summed or copied out, and a very long CSV becomes an unreadably tall picture. Send the file itself when the data matters more than the look.
Why not just use an online converter?
CSV exports are usually the raw dump: the full customer list, the whole transaction history, every row rather than the few you meant to show. Rendering it on your own machine means the complete export never leaves your computer, even though only part of it ends up in the picture you share.

PNG compresses without loss, so letters and gridlines stay sharp. JPG is built for photographs and puts soft halos around high-contrast edges, which is exactly what small text is.
What happens with a very large CSV?
Every row is laid out, so a long file becomes a very tall image that is awkward to read. For big exports it is usually better to trim the rows you actually want to show first.
Can I still search the text in the image?
No. Once rendered, the values are pixels rather than characters, so nothing can find or copy them. Keep the original CSV if that matters.
Does this need an internet connection?
