Documents conversion
Convert PPT to PNG
PPT is the older file format used for presentation slideshows, and PNG is a single image. Converting turns each slide into its own PNG picture, so a ten-slide deck becomes ten image files. Doing this on your own computer means the deck's content and any author details in it never get sent to an outside server.
All 2,748 conversions verified on macOS, Windows, and Linux against the shipping release, this one included. Every conversion runs entirely on your own computer.

- Convert. Morphjet writes one PNG per slide next to your original, and nothing leaves your machine.
PPT vs PNG: what actually changes
| PPT | PNG | |
|---|---|---|
| What you get | One file with all slides | A separate PNG for each slide |
| Editable | Yes, text and layout can be changed | No, it's a flat picture |
| Opens everywhere | No, needs presentation software | Yes, any image viewer or browser |
| Quality | Lossless, redraws sharp at any size | Lossless at the resolution it was exported, doesn't rescale as cleanly |
| Animations and transitions | Yes, plays as a slideshow | No, just the static slide |
| Author and company metadata | Yes, often includes author and edit history | Minimal, mostly stripped on export |
When to convert, and when not to
Convert PPT to PNG when you need a slide as a picture, for example to drop it into a document, embed it on a webpage, or use it as a thumbnail or preview image.
Keep the original PPT if anyone still needs to edit the text, reorder slides, or run the animations and transitions, since none of that survives in a PNG.
Why not just use an online converter?
Old presentation files often carry the author's name, company, and edit history in their metadata, along with whatever is on the slides themselves. An online converter would receive all of that along with the deck. Converting on your own computer keeps the presentation, and who made it, off any outside server.
Questions
Do I get one PNG or several from one PPT file?
Several. Each slide in the deck becomes its own PNG image, so a 12-slide presentation produces 12 PNG files.
Does converting PPT to PNG lose quality?
The image itself is lossless, but it's exported at a fixed resolution, so unlike the original slide it won't stay perfectly sharp if you scale it up a lot.
Will the PNG still be editable?
No. A PNG is a flat picture, so the text, shapes, and layout you could edit in presentation software are baked into the image and can't be changed afterward.
Does the PNG keep the slide's animations or transitions?
No. You get a still image of how the slide looks, not the motion. If you need the animation, keep the original PPT.
Can I convert a PPT to PNG without uploading it anywhere?
Yes. A desktop app like Morphjet converts the file on your own computer, so the slides and any metadata in the deck never travel over the internet.
Morphjet runs this conversion and 2,747 others, all on your machine. Available now.
